ABOUT
Andre Jarema is a French speaking Belgian artist who has been living in the UK for 7 years. He leaves Belgium and comes to London to achieve his musical ambitions. He’s a tortured artist in many ways. He spends his first years in London isolated in his bedroom playing music, improving his English, working on his accent and crafting songs.
In 2009 after several unsuccessful bands he decides to put together a band of session musicians and gets his friend Matthew Adams to help him produce an album. Together they move into a derelict but massive building in South East London, they hire 4 musicians, arrange the songs with the band for about a month, then go to a fancy studio and record the album in a week.
Andre calls the album “there was a night before there was a day”, he sets up a label and self-releases his debut album in October 2009. The band start playing gigs in January 2010 and sell the CDs on a “pay what you want” basis at their gigs. In October 2010, the band release a second album, a Live album recorded during a performance filmed for their forthcoming DVD released in December 2010.
