Released in October 2009,”There Was A Night Before
There Was A Day” is the debut album of Jarema.
In January 2009, Producer Matthew Adams
and Andre Jarema moved into a derelict building
in South East London. They hired four musicians,
arranged and rehearsed the songs for a about a month
then went to a studio to record the album. The album
describes a journey from a dark place to a hopefully
brighter one. The music is melodic and melancholic, mostly
rock but very poppy. The lyrics are quirky and convey
a sense of loneliness, detachment from the world
and impossible ideals.
